If You are Arrested! - About Duty Attorney System -http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/cl.gifhttp://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/cl.gifhttp://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/cl.gifhttp://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/cl.gif If You are Arrestedhttp://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/bg_dot.gif If you, your family or friend is arrested, what will you do? People arrested will not be allowed to contact anyone they know and thus, they may feel scared. In a case like this, it is important to contact a lawyer immediately to obtain appropriate legal advice.

Do You Know “Duty Attorney System”?http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/bg_dot.gif The Japan Federation of Bar Associations established the Duty Attorney System in collaboration with local bar associations throughout Japan. Under this system, you do not need to know any lawyers. If you just say at the police station, “Please call the duty attorney(toban bengoshi)”, the police or court will make contact with the nearest local bar association and a lawyer will come to see you very soon. Further, the first time a duty attorney is called, there is no charge at all.

A duty attorney interviews you at a police holding cell without the presence of police officers, explains about your right and the future procedures and also makes contact with your family.

If you, your family or friend is arrested, please bring the Duty Attorney System to mind. It will certainly be of assistance to you. http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/arrow_grayback.gifBe Informed! - Duty Attorney - (http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/en/legal/arrest_02.html) http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/img/arrow_grayback.gifDu ty Attorneys Contact List (http://www.nichibenren.or.j p/en/legal/arrest_contact_list. html)

Dear Betong,

Ha ha…Dont even think about it…With the Japanese high-tech cameras in place, you will certainly have 12 hours to flee at the most…Just kidding…

Anyway, I was thinking of the TNTs and in case of traffic accidents…or fights with strict Japanese neighbors ha…who might draw the attention of the police to late night and loud debaucheries …which awaken the entire Japanese neighborhood…Go safely into the night…

Cheers,

Chameleon

Never heard of a cat burglar?

Late night debaucheries? Hey! You got my attention!

Dear Betong,

Gomenie…I just like the sound of it…but what I really meant was just loud parties…Ha ha…

I think it may have come from the word Bacchus, the Greek God for Wine…When you are drunk, you are loud and anything can happen…that is why…

Cheers,

Chameleon:)

If that is the only behaviour linked to alcohol induced ‘debauchery’ I wouldn’t really be interested, but that word has more to it than being loud. Guess, that’s why I am interested.
Another French word close to it (débauche) is - dévergonder, coming from the root word vergogne or vergogna meaning shame. The prefix - de - added would mean an undoing of the root word which is shame. So, this would mean that debauchery or acts of debauchery are shameless acts, being loud included.
Gosh, sorry for being quite a bore. Shameless me. Not alcohol induced though. More like caffeine induced, but that would make me more excited than shameless. I think.

Dear Betong,

Thanks for your caffeine-induced but really interesting reply and enlightenment. I know what you implied by the more modern meaning of debauchery.but thanks for the French origin of it…ha ha…

Anyway, if you refer to Merriam-Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary, you will find the titillating meaning which you were quite obliquely referring to,though you would rather not mention, for fear I supposed, of censorship…so demurely I must also remain uncensoredly pure in my use of language in this forum…

But thanks for making me smile anyway, in the midst of this rather boring piece of composition I was editing…you made my afternoon.

By the way, Betong, you seem to have a very original piece of brain working there. what is your concept of God? Sorry for being a bore though…but you know what…that question beats me…and I was thinking of starting a new thread on just that issue…just havent formulated my own yet…so I obviously cant start a thread without having my own say first right?..

If the question  peeves you, please ignore it…

Cheers,

Chameleon

God is a much frowned upon topic here in TF and many a heart and mind has been offended by this hot subject. Look at this thread (http://www.timog.com/forum/showthread.php?t=136 5).
Oh yeah, the originality about my brain is that I actually do not have one, or if I do, it’s probably the size of a brontosaur’s one.

“Touban bengoshi wo yonde kudasai!”

Thanks for the very informative site chameleon. Buti na ang handa. Malay natin isa sa atin dito ang mapagkamalan ng krimen. Ang mahirap dito ay kailangan mong patunayan ang pagka-inosente mo sa charges, imbes na patunayan nila na ikaw ay guilty. Hmm…

Yes Dax,

I find being “handa” very comforting…

Thanks Betong for the link to the God issue. Now I put it to rest. Amen.
