Tourist to dependent visa na hindi na kailangang umuwi sa Pilipinas?

pwede po bang malaman kung me possiblity ba na makapagpalit ng Visa from tourist to Dependent na hindi na kailangan umuwi pa ng Pilipinas at maghintay para sa COE(Certificate of Eligibility)? Yung friend ko po kasi ay kakapakasal lang po sa ating bayan at gusto nya po sana isama agad ang misis nya dito, kaya po plano niya sana na ikuha muna ng tourist visa tapos po dito na lang po magpapalit to dependent visa. thank you po sa sagot nyo…:slight_smile: sigurado po ako na makakatulong kayo.

i think its possible…basta ba maka abot yung release ng COE b4 yung expiration ng 3 mos or 6 months tourist visa ng applicant at qualified yung fren mo na mag sponsor ng isang dependent tulad ng wife nya.

may alam ako na holder ng tourist visa na naka change sa engineer visa without going home sa phils.mas madali ang dependet visa kesa sa engineer visa kaya i think,its possible.

Yes, it is possible.

On the other hand, that you married to someone, legally both in other country and here in Japan, doesn’t necessarily mean you can get a spouse visa automatically.

I know a case the visa was not issued on the ground that the immigration office regarded this marriage as fake, for the bride was as young as granddaughter of the groom.

I should add:

In this case the bride came here as tourist, after getting married legally in the Philippines.
Then the city hall accepted the marriage certificate, and they got legally married here in Japan, too.
Then they went to the Immigration office to change her visa from tourist to spouse.
Then the office refused it, for the groom is over 80 years old and the bride is in her late 20s.
The old man has no intention of fake marriage for he loved this girl very much.

The bride was bright and went back to the Philippines without overstaying, and refused to sign the divorce paper for she knew when the old groom dies she can get life insurance and his pension. (so called widow pension.)
