Application page
The normal application page is here. However, it does not yet accept applications for the SSW2 Manufacturing Sector test. They will make an announcement when the final dates and application method is finalized.
Examination qualification
Anyone is permitted to take this exam. There is no need for Work Experience Certificate.
Examination fee
¥7,920 (including tax)
If you apply online using credit card or convenience store payment, an application fee of 400 yen (tax included) will be charged in addition to the exam fee for applications to take one exam, and 650 yen (tax included) for applications to take two exams.
Examination method
Computer-based Test (CBT).
When you apply, we will confirm your purpose for taking the exam. If you are taking the Business Career Certification Level 3 exam to use as the written exam for the Manufacturing Field Specified Skills No. 2 Evaluation Exam, you will need to take the exam using the CBT method.
Details on the schedule and application method for the CBT method will be posted on the website as soon as they are decided. (Around July)
Passing score
There are 40 questions, and the passing score is 24 (60%).

Here are the results of the previous three years of test. Specified Skilled Workers started to take the test from the 2nd Test of 2023.

Testing centers
Testing centers for ordinary paper-based tests are found in each prefecture.
However, for the CBT method of testing for Specified Skilled Workers, the testing centers have not been decided yet.
