I played soccer with some Peruvian friends last weekend. No, I meant I kicked some balls for five minutes, got tired, so I just took some pictures.
Soccer is a sport that Filipinos should play, but don’t. Some good things about soccer:
It doesn’t require height (which we Filipinos lack in great abundance).
It’s played outside, rain or shine (which makes you feel the great outdoors).
It requires technique, power, speed, endurance and intelligence.
It is international (unlike other sports, footballers come from all corners of the globe).
The World Cup (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/) (nothing comes close to the hysteria of a World Cup).
Take a look at the Goal of the Century (http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/02/en/pf/h/gotc/launch.html) (the last one), scored by the Argentine Maradona against England during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
