If you’re wondering why there are over 86 million Filipinos, here’s an explanation (http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=31&art_id=qw1109653380212B214). This, coupled with the powerful influence of the Catholic Church (http://www.ipsnews.net/africa/interna.asp?idnews=22110) may well result in 200 million Filipinos by 2050 (http://www.todayonline.com/articles/37619.asp), a large part of them out of the country.

oftentimes, religion is business in the philippines. that could be one big reason why the catholic church is always against artificial family planning. they say that they’re pro-natural methods, but they don’t exert an effort in teaching catholics these natural methods. if they are really for family planning as long as it’s natural (as they claim), why then do they not do anything? business. baptisms are business. so are first communions, confirmations, weddings, funerals, even ordinary sunday masses. i’m not anti-cc but they do many things that i am against.

though i’m not pro-arroyo per se either, i am for her government’s family planning program. i just hope she does not give-in to the pressure and continues this “freedon from pregnancy” campaign.
