Tried a bit to look for it (without spending hours and hours in the heat to find it) pero hindi ko pa rin ito nakita.
Maraming salamat mga kababayan!

Pareng Betong,
Kaya that time paalis na ako, wala na akong panahon. So hindi ko napuntahan. Magtanong tanong kalang doon.

I sent PM to Minamiboy and happy to get his response. So here it is: :yippee:
It’s in nawate street, gion. Its about 5-10 minutes walk from Shijo Keihan Station. When you get out from the station, you can see an Asahi Beer billboard or the Takarakuza theater (you can ask for this from any passerby), just go straight to that direction until you reach the first big street, the nawate dori (nawate street). Turn left, go straight ahead and you can find 7/11, in front of it and on the other side of the street is Chicken Manila. I heard that the resto is now operating in an Off and On basis, so it might be better if you call them before coming. Their tel no is: 075-525-5202.
Regards,
Minamiboy
Thanks so much Minamiboy!

Uy Salamat ha Minami at Stanford. Malamang I’ll check it out tomorrow. And maybe go there with a friend this week.
Panahon na para magsaya. Forgets mo na ang problema… (Uhmmm, old song…)

Will2k5, medyo mahihirapan yata ako diyan kasi bago lang ako dito (a bit over 3 months) at hindi pa ako marunong magsalita ng kanilang wika dito and after all the stories on apartment searching by our fellow kababayans, I really think that with my barok nihingo I won’t get too far. But who knows maybe in a year, I’ll get good enough to negotiate…:o

So, I finally saw this much searched and talked about Chicken Manila. Even, my fiancee’s hairdresser knows about it, told her that it was a nice place with good live music performed by Filipinos:) . Unfortunately, it was closed. I came during the day and it is a night establishment.
First impression: not a very a savoury place to have a first date:rolleyes: . It’s in the middle of the red-light district and surrounded by host or hostess bars (I think, can’t really understand Japanese yet). Very dirty elevator and building facade. Saw some quite scary characters around:eek:.
SO, I guess I’ll still go anyway, really miss this kind of thing. I’d leave all my valuiables, credit cards and the like and bring just enough to get by that night and yes, I’ll still bring my Japanese friend (guy, I’ll never bring a girl there, not till I actually check it out anyway).
Kaya, mag-beer muna tayo! Tell you about it when I’ve gone.
