Filipinos in Ōita Prefecture have a registered population of 1,697 individuals as of 2022, the 32nd largest group of Filipinos in Japan by prefecture, ahead of Miyagi and behind Yamaguchi.[1]

Most the population of Filipinos in Ōita Prefecture is found in the capital city of Ōita, with 482 Filipinos, the nearby city of Saiki with 230 Filipinos, and Beppu with 194.[1:1]

Ōita Prefecture

Ōita Prefecture (大分県, Ōita-ken) is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyūshū. Ōita Prefecture has a population of 1,136,245 (1 June 2019) and has a geographic area of 6,340 km2. Ōita Prefecture borders Fukuoka Prefecture to the northwest, Kumamoto Prefecture to the southwest, and Miyazaki Prefecture to the south.[3]

Ōita is the capital and largest city of Ōita Prefecture, with other major cities including Beppu, Nakatsu, and Saiki.[3:1]

Ōita Prefecture’s industrial activity is centered on agricultural products. Fishery products and manufactured goods rank second and third respectively in terms of Ōita’s industrial activity.[3:2]
