Filipinos in Iwate Prefecture have a registered population of 1,355 individuals as of 2022, the 34th largest group of Filipinos in Japan by prefecture, ahead of Ishikawa and behind Miyagi.[1]

The largest population of Filipinos in Iwate Prefecture are found in Ichinoseki, at the border with Miyagi Prefecture, with 290 residents. The other cities with significant population of Filipinos are Morioka, the capital, with 138 Filipino residents, Ōshū with 131, and Kitakami with 129.[1:1]

Iwate Prefecture
Iwate Prefecture (岩手県, Iwate-ken) is a prefecture of Japan located in the Tōhoku region of Honshu. It is the second-largest Japanese prefecture at 15,275 square kilometers, with a population of 1,165,886 (as of July 1, 2023). Iwate Prefecture borders Aomori Prefecture to the north, Akita Prefecture to the west, and Miyagi Prefecture to the south.[3]
Morioka is the capital and largest city. The other major cities include Ichinoseki, Ōshū, and Hanamaki.[3:1]

The Filipino population of Iwate Prefecture has not changed much during the last 50 years, and recently rising over and falling below the 1,000 mark.
