hello there! i been just a member here and notice that na marami atang worker in IT related field. my work is also in that field, im a system engineer here. im working here in yokogawa at maraming mga taga india here which work is also in IT business. malakas kasi ang india in IT eh, kaya maraming hapon ang kumukuha sa kanila.

pero di naman siguro pahuhuli tayong mga pinoy. i think marami rin sa atin ditong engineer but you can count it. i checked a few months before sa census nila how many filipino engineers are working here, almost 100 lang pala. i just thinking of sharing our individual knowledge para na rin sa improvement na bawat isa sa atin. how about that . . . waiting for your comments and suggestions.

Everyone can use computers here, otherwise he or she can not come to here.:type:
But I think we must keep in mind that majority of the members are not system engineers nor computer nuts.
(I am the latter.):stuck_out_tongue:

The issue of the conversation here can be very high, but at the same time, I think, it should be readable for non-professionals to enjoy.

Say, it can be higher than newspaper.
You don’t have to explain what “title bar” is.

But not as high as nuts-speak, where everybody knows, say, what “msconfig” is.
Maybe somewhere around popular computer magazines, is the adequate level.

Maybe this might be far below what you had anticipated.

But, for the benefit of the general members, and for here to get a lot of replies, I suggest this.

a big portion of my real-life friends in japan are IT people. i don’t think there are only about 100 IT-pinoys here. in tokyo alone i can name at least 30.

btw some of my friends ARE indeed engineers, having degrees in electrical, electronics, and other ENGINEERING fields. BUT imho we need to differentiate an “engineer” with an “IT professional”. i for one am an engineer with an “engineer” visa, though i’m not in IT.

i don’t like it when the japanese refer to anyone working in the IT field (e.g. programmers), “engineers” coz they’re not. :stuck_out_tongue:

Your right, maraming kababayan natin dito licensed Engr/ or engineering level. Yung census nila are just based on reported Engr working/registered on that same field of work. Hindi kasama roon yung napadpad sa ibang linya nang trabaho, lalot walang bala ika nga.

correction to my previous post: “differentiate” → “distinguish”

that is why im saying na those person who are professional inline with IT field.
i intentionally open this thread for that. i know di siguro makacatch-up ng ibang iyong
magiging topic natin pero wala tayo magagawa. but maybe it can be their reference when
someone is starting studying some subject related to this. for example, this forum. i found
it very attractive maganda pagkakagawa. kaya siguro ko naingganyo ring maging member
kasi filipino ang nagoorganize nito. so maybe we can share something, share our knowledge
para maimprove pa skill natin.

Thats a good idea specially if posted sa thread nang technology and recreation…I think? Would be very educational kung may link ang ilang word which you think need to emphasize/elaborate for regular readers. Parang ask yahoo. Dito siguro eh “ask you” for that matters, joke lang, pangkiliti.

Stacie’s right. there’s a Technology category where you can post discussions on technical matters, including IT-related topics. i’m sure those in the IT field here at TF would be delighted to contribute to the discussions. it’s ok if the discussions get technical, those who’ll respond would most probably be from the same field anyway.
