hello mga kababayan,

:frowning: I am desperately seeking for a job here in japan, baka may alam kayong employer na pwedeng mag sponsor ng visa. I am a degree holder. My eyes were already very tired searching and clicking lots of job sites here but still cannot find the right one. I am currently holding a tourist visa. I am staying with my relatives near in yamato-shi kanagawa ken area. I was hoping i can land a job before my visa expires. You can send any suggestions and i would highly appreciate it! Maraming salamat! God bless us all.

The only problem I see is that it might be very difficult for employers to get you in with your current visa. And even if you do get an employer willing to sponsor your new visa applications, you would still have to get out of Japan and apply for a visa somewhere else (could be in your home country or the nearest consulate like Korea for example). The reason for this is that the tourist or temporary visa does not allow for employment. The process I mentioned above could take time and could cost you and your employers some resources.

If you have the funds, have you thought of getting into some formal japanese or technical studies and making arrangements for that before the conclusion of your visa? The reason I mentioned - is that by getting into a real educational program, the institution can somehow help sponsor your application for a student visa (not all educational institutions do this) and ease your entry to Japan. Another good thing is that - by earning some sort of credentials, you become more attractive to Japanese Employers and at the same time, the experience will not give you much of a surprise once you get into the Japanese work culture.

I still pray that you do finally get your wish. Goodluck with the search.

Yes, v wrangler is right, getting a job in Japan is a challenge these days. Even the Japanese are having a hard time. Regarding the visa, I think I’ve heard of someone converting a tourist visa into a working visa without going out of the country. I might be mistaken though. Does anyone know this?

Hello friendly yen! I hope that you’re still in Japan by the time you read this post and that your visa has not expired yet. Tama si Nick, you dont have to go out of Japan to have your visa processed. While holding a tourist visa you can have it converted while still here. Thats what the new Japanese immigration law provides. However, you are not allowed to work while the visa is being processed. Though I know of many English teachers who’ll just have their passports stamped and go on with their teaching jobs.

Ang maipapayo ko sa yo friendly yen is to look for a teaching position here since it’s highly in demand and no experience is necessary. All you need is your diploma and a good accent. I’m sure you can hurdle the interview. Eto ang mga useful adds- Japan Times classified (every Monday), Daily Yomiuri (every Wed) www.gaijinpot.com, www.ohayosensei.com at i surf mo rin ang www.eslcafe.com (If you cant find this just type daves esl at yahoo.com) I hope useful yang mga yan sa yo.

I was once in the same boat as you are in right now and I know how it feels.

Keep on trying and dont lose hope. But more importantly, PRAY, okay? I wish you well. Mabhay ka!

Hi TF Members.

May nakita akong AD for factory workers. Thought, I’ll scan and post it here if in case may interesado po.
