December 26 was another blessed day for Tulong Pinoy Movers. It was not a big event but rather a simple but certainly a memorable day for all of us who attended the batch 2 graduation of Tulong Aeta Literacy with 27 Aeta graduates and Christmas Party with Aeta families and children in Botolan. Together with Donna, Franz and Mike, we’re joined by no other than Fr. Stephen Cuyos, MSC (our podcasting priest from Rome and a Linux user), Anna (a fellow professor of Mike), Precy (our volunteer-auditor), Mary Anne (a Catechist friend of Donna), 14 La Salle-Lipa students, Manang Ansing, Boknoy, Donna’s brother and friend. These students are part of the Theology class of Mike and they are the active organizers of Isang Alaga, Isang Kinabukasan (IAIK) piggery-fattening project at Barangay Talisay, Lipa, Batangas.

To help, you don’t have to be physically rich… you just have to be rich at heart and the rest will follow. More updates and pictures about this ongoing project at http://www.tpmovers.org/bingopasko2005.htm . We are inviting the hometown folks to share your blessings as we continue our support for Aeta indigigenous people in Zambales through:
- Iskolar-Pinoy Program (2500 yen per month per Aeta college scholar)
- Tulong Aeta Literacy Batch 3
… upcoming is Isang Kabuhayan Project… Join us!
Yes… it’s bingo to literacy. The more support for our Bingo Pasko project, the more Aeta literates to come… this is our basic diaspora formula at Tulong Pinoy Movement.
No read no write na, wala talagang empowerment.

Great projects ka Tonyang.
I know every TF’ers understand the importance of these movements.
I hope and pray too that we will not stop at simply understanding.
I hope and pray that we will also do ACTUALLY support.
I felt many are skeptical (based on my very little experience). But I hope we
dont stay at that. It is time to move, before it is too late. Mas dumarami ng
dumarami ang mahihirap sa atin. The population is exploding and most of the
numbers added are those at the bottom.
However, every one of those at the bottom that are helped can be a seed.
They can grow up, grow branches and eventually bear many fruits.
Natural lang na i-criticise natin ang sarili nating bansa, ganon din ang gobyerno, specially if the intention for the criticism is to hope for betterment. But let us not stop at that. Let us also take ACTUAL ACTIONS!!!

Hi d_southpaw!
Satisfaction is the key word and if we really value our existence as man for others, I think this is the most important.
As a sharing… just be transparent, continue hoping and persevere in doing good things. If you’ve been doing the same thing with no haste then those who are skeptical must be the ones to question now. After 1 year, it’s alright to hear challenges because your track record is yet to be proven. After one year, you will be one year older facing these challenges and for sure, you’ll meet new challengers. After 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 years of doing the same thing over and over, it’s time to look back and reflect what really happened. Were those challenges helpful at all? Were those challengers really worth your time and effort or just a plain scratch with no effect at all over the years?
At the end of the day, we know the reasons why many of us are struggling in Japan and among us, the value of our existence is still unclear because we couldn’t absorb the significance or meaning of why we need to help “deserving” ones and why there are some of us who want to share their blessings.
Life is short but we can make it long… by passing on our legacy to younger generations. But if we’ll remain in our own small boxes, how high is the grade that we want to receive before we reach heaven?
Why do those things, infact tons of them, single-handedly or with very few hands in most cases? Simple reason is that no one is doing them and if no one is doing them, the sufferings of those who are deserviing especially children will just multiply. I hope and always pray that there are more who will think of ways of providing opportunities especially for children or those who still hope for a better life.
Again… each person is the manager of his/her own life. He/She has the right to grow up to a level that he/she wants to live with. This is the respect for one’s humanity. And this is a plain sharing from somebody who cares about the future of the younger generation.

Warning: I try to write with negative tones only seldomly. Thisl one will probably be.
Sana mas maraming mga kababayan na ang satisfaction (as far as wish for the Philippines is concerned) ay naandon sa pagpapataas ng extent ng actual positive actions natin.
I sometimes visit other Filipino forums, join mail lists, not just for the sake of joining but also for the sake of observing the trend. Talk about something that anybody can complain about and the post or the e-mail thread will be very active. To the point that people will fight. Online. Sometimes they probably do not even know who they have words fight with. Obviously, it will bear no good fruit. Just grudge. Cant help wonder why they do that.
Now, post about actual things that can lead to improvement of someone’s poor life in the Phil for instance, talk about even very negligiblel money contributions, or any other action (ie: giving books or little things one’s own way) and the responses will be sparse. Baligtad. These should be where we spend our energy, not with dwelling with negative talkies things.
I hope I am wrong, but I think we Filipinos on the average are too concerned but only up to the point of talking, of complaining.
I hope many will realize that even very minor contribution or help can count, specially if many do the same good thing. 500 yen halimbawa, every month or two. But it means a lot to a poor soul in the Phil. If it is put together with others. Parang walis. Isang tingting lang, pero pag binuhol mo sila, gives lot of value.
So to summarise in positive tone: ACTION NA!!!

Tama southpaw… pinaka-basic example.

I cover my own backyard ikanga. Primarily, poor relatives.
‘Poor student, poor youth’ sector, is who anybody can help.
They are everywhere in the Phil. Di na kailangang lumayo. Kapitbahay

http://www.tpmovers.org/Iskolar_Pinoy_Journa lv3.pdf (http://www.tpmovers.org/Iskolar_Pinoy_Journa lv3.pdf)
