It is possible to obtain permanent visa. Either a japanese or foreign resident having a permanent visa can be a guarantor. In practice, the applicant is required to have lived continuously in Japan for a particular period depending on his situation.You have to renew your current visa status while you do not obtain a permanent visa. Also, it is necessary to get a re-entry permit before leaving Japan if you want to continue to live in Japan.

kung nasa phils o may valid visa ang ang mapapangasawa ng permanent resident sa jpn,mabibigyan sya ng visa na '‘spouse of PR’'tulad ng inaplay ni janieserg(tourist >> SPR).
kung TNT sya,thats another story…kailangan umuwi sya sa pinas at tapusin yung ban period at mag apply sya pagkatapos nun…dito may malaking tsansa na mabigyan sya.

Yes, it is possible kahit nga wala kang visa basta you are married to a permanent visa holder. Pero siempre…case-by-case basis…yata. Basta a friend of mine got a visa after staying in Japan for a long time without one at hindi na siya pinauwi. Sorry can’t share more.

A Filipina friend of mine with a permanent resident status (divorced siya sa japanese husband nya at wala sila kids) fell in love with another pinoy who happens to be a contract worker. Now thay are planning to get married before the visa of the guy expires. Now kasi marami sila naririnig na hindi daw pwede mabigyan ng visa ang lalaki kase pareho sila foreigner, so wala din chance sila na magsama kung uuwi din ng Pinas ang lalaki, at yung babae naman ay may stable life and work dito sa Japan.
Kuha nyo Love story??

if thats the story,the guy can apply for a change of status of residence—from employment visa to spouse of PR visa.

@ logical ~ nakuha ko love story mo 
case by case po pero may chance na mabigyan ka …kung malapit na palang ma expire yung visa ng guy eh dapat mag-apply na kamo pero kailangan get all the papers needed before applying …

Tama si ganda_girl89. Im using a tourist visa before and changed it to spouse of PR after marrying a foreigner also who has a permanent resident visa. Just got my spouse of PR visa last week after 3 and a half months of waiting.
So i guess there’s no problem at all as long as one of them is a permanent visa holder.
Just tell your friend to apply before the expiration of his visa para walang problema.
