I watch more than 200 DVDs (in the past, videos) a year, and almost all of them are what you call Hollywood movies.
If there are more than 2 same DVDs in the small rental shop near to my house, I borrow it without thinking what kind of movie it is.

I am addicted to IMDb, the American movie site.
Every movie I watched, (after watching it), I check the IMDb, and read all the comments.
If you let me talk about movies I will keep talking many hours.

My favorite movies are,

1 City Lights (Chaplin)
2 Teminator 2 (Arnie)
3 Bewitched (Nicole Kidman) Though I am a great fan of Nicole Kidman, her other movies are not particularly great.
4 Matrix 1-3 (I love Agent Smith.)
5 Back to the Future 1-3
6 You’ve Got Mail
7 Bourne Identity, Supremacy (All of Matt’s movies are great)

Also I like American TV series, and I watched all series of X Fies, 24, Roswell.

The Passion of the Christ (Mel Gibson)

Pumunta kami (mga 20 myembro sa kapilya namin) sa sinehan together, umiyak kaming lahat.
Tears rolled down on my cheeks.
Normal Japanese movie fans in the theater were looking at us as if we were bunch of lunatics.(Maingay kami, kasi)

Ever since I was young, I had been reading the Bible, (NIV, KJV, MBB, TKJV, 新改訳 etc. ), but never had I become so emotional until that time. (Mahina ang pananampalataya ko.)

I still read the Bible little by little every night, and quite often the scenes of this movie comes to my mind.

I did not know it was him until they announced his name at the end and he stood up and waved… (he is also the actor in Die Hard 3, and Three Musketeers)

Well, this thread is so exciting.

As for American movies, I have watched almost all of the movies you mentioned.
The scenes of these movies are whirring in my mind, and I can’t stop it. Help me!

As for a few movies I haven’t wathced, I’d like to rent them as soon as possible.
Perhaps, I must go to another bigger rental shop, for I know by heart almost all the DVDs in my usual shop.(very small)

Sorry for my mistake.

Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman.

Leopold(Hugh Jackman) time-slipped to late-20th century or early 21-century New York.

Thus the title in Japanese is "ニューヨークの恋人” (me aning; Lovers in New York)

Though I never set subtitle/language to Japanese mode, I try to remember titles in Japanese as much as possible.
This usually helps me when talking to rental shop guys.
(Most probably they don’t know the original title, if it different from the Japanese title.)

The movie is the product of Italian comic sensation Roberto Benigni, who wore three hats: director, co-writer, and star.

Reminds me of a previous patient, who lived through the Holocaust - her arm tattoed with designated number. A very pleasant lady…

1. Saan Darating and Umaga. ( When Maricel Soriano left her adopted brother at the orphanage)
2. Pusong Mamon ( Love scene, as in kissing scene between Albert Martinez and Eric Quezon with both being naked. It was a great scene which never happened before in Phil. Cinema. It was sort of a historic first in breaking the taboo and enigmatic of homosexual actual love making between gays)
3. Schindler’s List ( The entire film has disturbed my sense of morality regarding human lives. It is very depressing film)
4. Gabi nang Lagim Ngayon ( A certified filipino horror film)
5. The sound of Music ( very exhilerating film, full of grace and human charm)
6. Sister Act 1 ( Very glorious, I can’t help it but totally love Whopi Goldberg )
7. Till we meet again ( Nora Aunor )

9. Flor Contemplacion Story
10. Andrea Paano ba ang maging Ina ( Another very disturbing Filipino film.)

Kingdom of Heaven — this movie is heavy~gatin ,with so many points and arguments to ponder

Sin City — good film , very unique story line and how it played evil in the movie .
“warning though” ,it’s violence galore… a bit let down because there are number
of cuts …

American Beauty … I love this film… In fact I would have to say it is one of my all time favorites …Mostly because I think it is such an honest story… a chronicle of a family “wanting more”… more career success …more physical beauty,more love… more , more ,more…But in the end , they already had it all… It’s a good watch

I’ve liked a lot of movies, but this one I’ve watched recently, Closer, really shocked me. Not everybody here will like it I guess, I don’t know if I liked it myself. But it’s one of the movies that really surprised me. One thing that can’t be denied about this movie is that the actors were pretty impressive.

i saw this movie …what can i say ?natalie portman …mmmm lol … this movie is something to enjoy but might not get the vote of a lot of people . the exchange of lines are unreal but the emotions are very raw . attraction,lust, jealousy,lies,deceit ,obsession,betrayal , natalie in thongs , and love (…or the lack of it).

I saw Munich (10 Best Portable Air Conditioners of 2023 (And Our Reviews!)) on DVD last night. It’s a Steven Spielberg film, so it’s definitely well-made. The movie is about a team of Mossad agents sent to assassinate those who are responsible for the murder of Israeli athletes in the 1972 Munich olympics. Quite disturbing what we humans are capable of doing when we hate someone enough.

   3…Finding Nemo- I am praising Pixar in this movie. I like how they have stepped up their efforts to make an altogether pleasing film without any big flaws…

There was a rerun of Swing Girls on TV last night. It was my first time to see this movie, and boy was it fun to watch. Just don’t mind the unrealistic turn of events, free your mind and just enjoy watching these girls learn to play jazz. I learned later on that all the perfomance on the move were done by the girls themselves, and that none of them played any musical instrument before this movie.

I ended up listening to Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman way in to the wee hours of the morning!

An Inconvenient Truth ~ I am glad I saw this movie last night. It was better than I expected and I think it is going to have quite an impact . I encourage everyone to see this movie … it sends a real message and it may change your world completely in a matter of two hours… an eye opener …indeed .
