Osampo osampo

sunrise on a cold winter’s day :snowflake:

It wasn’t especially cold yesterday so we took a walk and stopped by the local bakery.

Here’s an iPhone that has lain on the curb near our house for some time. Somebody probably dropped it, somebody else probably run over it, somebody else found it and put it on the curb in case the owner comes looking for it, and somebody else took a picture of it.

Dried up gourds.

Somebody in our neighborhood is making pizza for take-out.

it was a sunny saturday, almost like spring, so we set out on foot around the neighborhood

Spring is finally, irrevocably here. It looked like everybody was out today, getting some sun, walking, bicycling…

I recently bought a second hand Canon EOS70d camera.

Walking around the neighborhood, we passed by this shrub full of blooming flowers which has a mildly fragrant smell.

My wife says it’s called サルスベリ (sarusuberi), which she thought was from “Salzberry” or something similar, but is actually from 猿滑り(monkey slide), purportedly because it has bark so smooth even monkeys would slide off it. It’s not so different from the bark of a guava tree–if you have ever climbed guava trees when you were small.

Crape myrtle, or Lagerstroemia, I learned later is the English name. I’d say the Japanese name is much more memorable.

pagkatapos ng bagyo :cyclone: :cloud_with_rain: :cloud_with_lightning:
