Anyway, I came upon an interesting story on the Internet. Excerpts below:
The world wants President George Bush out of the White House, according to a poll released on Wednesday that shows in 30 of 35 countries people preferred Democrat candidate John Kerry.
Kerry was particularly favoured by traditionally strong United States allies and beat Bush on average by more than a two-to-one margin, 46 percent to 20 percent, the survey by GlobeScan, a global research firm, and the University of Maryland, said.
This is hardly surprising, considering the mess in Iraq. The interesting part is this:
The only countries where Bush was preferred in the poll of 34 330 people that was conducted mainly in July and August were the Philippines, Nigeria and Poland. India and Thailand were divided.
Ganoon ba ka-popular si Bush sa Philippines? Considering na nagtaasan na ang presyo ng gasolina (probably because of the instability in Iraq) at nahihirapan tayong magpadala ng mga workers sa Middle East?

Siguro mas gusto ng mga Pinoy si Bush dahil mas kilala nila siya. Isa pa, Republican-leaning yata ang mga Pinoy, conservative at religious, dahil na rin sa influence ng Roman Catholic Church sa Pilipinas.
In contrast, sa Western Europe, kung saan liberal at secular ang society, at kung saan opposed ang mga tao sa war sa Iraq, mananalo si Kerry in a landslide.
