Actually matagal ko nang gustong itanong:
Saan ba nakakabili ng region-free ng DVD player? Meron kasi akong gustong bilhin na DVD sa Amazon at parang pag-U.S. lang ang version. Meron naman sigurong player na pwedeng Region 1 at 2? Meron bang may alam?

punta kang akihabara. marami dun. usually made in taiwan o china. yung ibang dvd player may codes na pwede mong i-input mula sa remote control para maging region-free. yung lg ko na dvd player ginawa kong region-free mula sa info na nakuha ko sa internet. 3 years ago na 'yon. siyempre mas hi-tech na mga dvd player ngayon. yung iba kelangan ng firmware update. yung mga dvd drives sa computer pwedeng gawing region-free, palitan mo lang ng firmware tulad nung powerbook ko.

Actually pwede rin sigurong hindi pumunta sa Akihabara. Baka sa mga shops ng Ishimaru o K’s Denki meron. Eto ang page galing sa Daiichi Musen (http://www.daiichimusen.co. jp/dvdmulti/dvdmulti.htm).

somebody told me that you can order region-free dvd players from flyingpig.com. hindi ko pa napuntahan ang website nila but this person who told me said that these dvd players are selling for less than 10,000 yen. why not check it out?

I’ve just got my new DVD w/ Video player. Sharp(DV-NC700)
I think this one is Region-Free dahil ang naka lagay sa manual Region:2 and All.
hindi ko na tinanong kung anong region ang pwede dahil ang habol ko lang naman mapanood ko ang mga VCD’s na binili ko galing Pinas(actually yong mga kaibigan kong nanghiram napanood na nila,akong may-dala hindi pa, hehehehehe).
Hindi ko alam kung Region-Free nga ito dahil wala naman akong DVD ng pinas.
medyo mahal nga lang dahil w/ VHS player. ￥18,000 sa Yamada Denki.

Just for your info, I am using a JVC XV-N33 dvd/super vcd/vcd/cd player , its a multi volt and multi -region unit. You dont need to push any button. its plays whatever region your DVD is.
Problema lang is if you are using pirated copies sometimes it doesnt work. Most duty-free shops at akihabara have this…bought mine sa Yokohama Diamond Duty-Free shop 045-201-3404 at Bashamichi, Yokohama…owners name is George and can speak good english.This shop sells mainly duty-free items (means overseas model). Check them out. oo nga pala, I bought mine early last year pa so I guess they have a newer model…made in malaysia yata ito…yen 15,000–lang, it also has av compulink sockets.
BTW, i’m new to this thread and hope to help out some of you guys, if i can…

Auding ang brand ng DVD namin. Been using this one for 4 years now. Bought it for 8000 yens noon pa 
We used an access code para maging multi region. Okey naman so far. Good thing about this, 100-230 volts sya, pwedeng maiuwi sa atin

Ginagamit ko Marantz DV3100 na may access code din para gawing ibang region kaya karamihan din ng DVD ko, ino-order ko na lang sa Amazon.com. Problem lang hindi pwede CDR sa kanya.
Kung naghahanap ka na rin lang bumili, try the DivX players. Naka network, hihilahin na lang sa PC mo iyong video. Binabasa niya parang PC. Problem lang, iyong mga nakalabas ngayon wala pang auto-upgrade ng CODEC… or baka wala pa lang sumusubok.
