Hello mga kababayan ko,

May tanong ako sa inyo…Have you ever tried renewing your passport by mail …sending your old passport and paying through ginko furikomi…to the Phil Embassy in Tokyo?

How long does it take? At saka may problema ba kayong naranasan when using such method? Is there any way of tracing the docs and the money…and the progress of the docs?
Kasi,5 kami in the family…YoOu can just imagine how expensive kung kaming lahat ay pupunta sa Tokyo Embassy…

Thanks po sa mga payo ninyo…

Cheers,

Chameleon

Hi chameleon,

I renewed my passport through mail. You can pay through genkin kakitome (現金書留) at the post office and send it along with the following documents.

Duly accomplished passport application form. Download the pdf file here (http://philembassy.net/tokyo/downloads/Passport%20Form.pdf) .
Three (3) passport-size photos
Old passport - to be presented for cancellation but will be returned to applicant
Copy of the following pages of old passport:
data page
visa page
page bearing the signature of the signing officer
Self-addressed stamped envelope

The renewal fee is ¥10,500. This is the amount you will send through kakitome. Processing takes 10 days.

Thanks for the space.

Thank you Paul and everyone for the replies and ideas…

By the way, saan ba dapat magpakuha ng passport photos?

Thanks again…

I have heard that in Japan one has to go to the passport office in person, even if one is a child or a very old person.

How kind and easy Philippine Embassy is!

Oh men…:order: I need to add a note too… They are the bloodiest rude employees Ive ever seen… (Iam pertaining to the Tokyo, Phil. Embassy employees neither this Osaka too) Tama pareho lang sila ng mga sakit… they have still the attitude of tsismisan muna before serving their country men… T’was unpunctual in time… Huh!! they are now in the first world Japan country… And yet still got the Philippine style work attitude pa rin… They hide sometimes behind the glass curtained window… inside, watching tv, nakatanga, eating etc… di pa naman breaktime… (Sinilip ko sila behind that curtain noh, last time Ive been there) Naglagay talaga sila ng Curtain not to view inside… They got the messages na bawal pa daw ang magmura… Nakaka imbiyerna !! :ohlord: … Goshh, all I heard are the mountainful of reklamos galing sa ating mga kababayan… Naku, di na ako bumalik… http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/tsmileys2/12.gif… I choosed to mail back my documents here in my place kahit medyo matagal at ayoko ng makipag siksikan pa… After that incident, I send right away my comments on their email about the bad services I had… Until now dont have answers pa. Kasi pag sinita mo sila, walang aminan… :grrr:

Can I ask you a question?? … Ay oo nga pala, isama mo na rin yung last mong punta ng Bangkok at nagpa masahe ka ng Thai massage para matanggal ang manas mo… he he he… Bat di mo ko sinama… :frowning: … Thanxs sa Info mo… sa uulitin…

Hello Belle,

Sure,my husband used it to fill up his application form and sent the form together with
genkin kakitome (registered money order ba iyon) worth 10,500 for the passport with enclosed registered return envelope worth 1000 yen…Of course, you should have the 2 or 3 photos ba iyon at saka your old passport…They will mail you back the finished new passport in 5 to 7 days…all these based on that single experience…

Good luck…
