sa mga TF mems sa kyoto, san ba pwedeng manood dito ng english movies or kahit na anong film na may english subtitles? o mga art films?
ang tagal ko nang hindi nakakapanood ng sine.
gusto kong ma-remind kung pano yung experience. nakalimutan ko na yta e 
at, sorry po pero sobrang ignuramus ako.

Sa sinehan, walang English subtitles, dito sa bansang Hapon.
No English subtitles in movie theaters, here in Japan.
Pero may English subtiltes ang halos lahat ng di-Hapong DVDs
However, most non-Japanese DVDs have English subtitles.

Try Movix in Teramachi dori (that shopping street perpendicular to Shijo dori). They have some English movies in original version with Japanese subtitles, though the selection is not what I would call artsy fartsy. I was able to see Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind there last year, so they also have some good movies from time to time. Now they have Cinderella Man, F4 and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
I don’t go out to see movies anymore that often since the selection is not too vast, so I am not very familiar with the movie houses here. You should check with your uni buddies at the Rits, they should know much more.
Another option is to rent a DVD. Tsutaya has a wide selection. Choose a big one though. There is a big enough one at the corner of Imadegawa and Karasuma.

May English translations ang ilang sikat na manga (e.g. “Rurouni Kenshin” na tinatawag sa Pinas na Samurai X…yuck). Pero recommend ko mag-aral ka na lang ng Nihongo para mabasa mo ang original!
May mga expressions sa Nihongo (with feelings!) na hindi kayang i-translate sa English, with exactly the same nuance.
Pero kung gusto mong subukan, baka meron sa malalaking bookstores dyan sa Kyoto. Dito sa Tokyo, nakakita din ako ng Vagabond (kwento ng legendary warrior - Miyamoto Musashi) at Naruto sa Kinokuniya.
As for anime…hmm di ko alam kung may English.

Hindi ako taga-Kyoto, pero kasama sa trabaho ko ang makisawsaw sa kung anu-anong dako ng Japan, so I have some familiarity with the Kansai area.
Your best bet would be to look for a “shinekon” (shinema konpurekkusu - cineplex in English) since it would give you maximum choice of movies, though I don’t know if they would show art films, given the lack of a viable audience.
As Kyoto is an old city that doesn’t really encourage big-scale developers, wala niyan sa Kyoto mismo. What you should do is to look for the big shopping centers on the way from Kyoto to Osaka, to Nara, to Biwa. I seem to remember na may Saty (or Jusco or Itoyokado) sa bandang Ibaraki, Takatsuki, Uji, Kusatsu or Rittou that have cinecons in them.
Then again, if you are really desperate enough, punta ka na lang sa Osaka. Maraaaaaming mga sinehan at shopping centers doon.
