Attention Nick et al:
Hey guys just a thought. I noticed that TF is growing and it is already a year old. Don’t you fancy to have a grand EB or since Christmas and New year is coming around the bend don’t you guys have some big ideas? I am sure Paul could come down to Tokyo just for the occasion. What do you lads and lass reckon?

That’s a good idea. Ano nga pala ang EB? I think it’ll be a great way for those who are new to Japan to meet others & make new friends.

Ang EB ho ay Filipino term which is short for EYE BALL. Actually we are already considered friends here. Yeah! It is really a great idea isn’t it? I wonder what the others have to say?

Ah, iyon bang ibig sabihin ng EB? Basically party? Pasensya ka na, ako’y matanda na & di ko na alam ang mga ganyang slang hehehe, plus 8 years na akong wala sa Pinas kaya ako’y out of the loop na sa mga bagay na ganyan

gabby, nasa Yokosuka lang ako, since end of April pa. Pero before that nasa States kami since Oct. 1997.
What are your ideas ba for this EB? Potluck ba? Saan magandang gawin?

Well, as I keep reading the Yokohama EB thread, it seems they are having a good time.
(By the way, that thread has 756 replies as of now, isn’t it the longest thread?)
Some people prefer anonymity and some don’t really care.
Those who want to enjoy off-meetings, just enjoy and have fun.
And please post pictures, I am interested.
Pero, I prefer to stay home with my family (including the rabbit) as much as I can.
This is partly because I want to save money for future or send money to PH.

Grand EB? I don’t know. The mere thought of organizing an event of that magnitude makes me shudder. I don’t know about the moderators but unfortunately for me, I don’t have much time to socialize with other people; work (day job) and maintenance of TF (endless tweaking of code and dealing with forum issues) take all of my time.
Not that I don’t want a party, I just don’t know how to deal with the logistics of that. Maybe we can discuss the possibilities in this thread. I also think maybe an event where people can attend (like hanami, hiking, etc.) is much better than a plain EB. That’s only a thought, maybe others have better ideas.

Well, no one should give yet one more heavy duty to our Nick the mushroom eater.
Someone else should organize it.
I have a suggestion.
Nick, why don’t you come to the EB in a different name? As if your are a new member.
This will lesson your psychological pressure, and possible many questions and all.
If you speak only in Tagalog and if you don’ t eat mushrooms there, no one will notice.

Another suggestion,
How about doing EB at local level, (say one in each prefecture, maybe 3 or 4 in Tokyo), at the same time, and at the designated time, each EB goes to an internet cafe or someone’s house, and join the "one-year grand chatting"at the same time.
And posting pictures right at the time.
I hope the server will stand this.
