i met a japanese guy who spoke really good pilipino. may accent pero magaling. but he was a japanese and i couldn’t bring myself to talk to him in pilipino, so i always talked to him in japanese. but he always spoke pilipino to me. so we had this situation where a pilipino was speaking in japanese to a japanese and the japanese was speaking in pilipino to a filipino. it was weird.
