Filipinos in Aomori Prefecture have a registered population of 864 individuals in 2022, the 41st largest group of Filipinos in Japan by prefecture, ahead of Akita and behind Yamagata.[1]

The Filipino population in Aomori Prefecture is concentrated in Hachinohe City, a major port with a diverse industry, with 341 Filipinos, followed by Misawa City, location of the Misawa Air Base, with 92 Filipinos.[1:1]

Aomori Prefecture

Aomori Prefecture (青森県, Aomori-ken) is a prefecture of Japan in the Tōhoku region, the northernmost prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the east, Iwate Prefecture to the southeast, Akita Prefecture to the southwest and the Sea of Japan to the west. The Tsugaru Strait separates Aomori Prefecture from Hokkaidō to the north.[3]

The capital and largest city is Aomori, followed by the port city of Hachinohe.[3:1]
