The cities with the most population of Filipinos in Shiga Prefecture are Higashiōmi and Hikone, with 466 and 426 Filipino residents, respectively.[1:1]

Next, the capital city of Ōtsu is home to 368 Filipinos, followed by Kōka (339) and Nagahama (326).[1:2]

Shiga Prefecture

Shiga Prefecture (滋賀県, Shiga-ken) is a landlocked prefecture of Japan located in the Kansai region of Honshu. Shiga Prefecture has a population of 1,412,916 (1 October 2015) and has a geographic area of 4,017 km2. Shiga Prefecture borders Fukui Prefecture to the north, Gifu Prefecture to the northeast, Mie Prefecture to the southeast, and Kyoto Prefecture to the west.[3]

Ōtsu is the capital and largest city of Shiga Prefecture, with other major cities including Kusatsu, Nagahama, and Higashiōmi.[3:1]

Shiga Prefecture is one of the leading industrial prefectures in western Japan. Major industrial products include pharmaceuticals (especially medicines) produced in the Hino and Koka regions, which have been a traditional industry since early modern times.[3:2]
