Filipinos in Fukui Prefecture have a registered population of 1,884 individuals as of 2022, the 30th largest group of Filipinos in Japan by prefecture, ahead of Yamaguchi and behind Okayama.[1]

Almost half of all the Filipino residents of Fukui Prefecture live in the two major cities: the capital of Fukui with 602 Filipinos, and Echizen with 269 Filipinos.[1:1]

Fukui Prefecture

Fukui Prefecture (福井県, Fukui-ken) is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chūbu region of Honshū. It has a population of 778,943 (1 June 2017) and has a geographic area of 4,190 km2. Fukui Prefecture borders Ishikawa Prefecture to the north, Gifu Prefecture to the east, Shiga Prefecture to the south, and Kyoto Prefecture to the southwest.[3]

Fukui is the capital and largest city, with other major cities including Sakai and Echizen.[3:1]

Fukui Prefecture faces the Sea of Japan and experiences heavy snowfall during the winter months.
